The sound of a steam whistle once again echoes in Blair County, Pennsylvania, as 2-6-0 #11 heads the “Steam into the Cove” excursion, traveling from Hollidaysburg to Martinsburg, PA, and return. Follow “The Martinsburg Express” as it navigates the winding Cove Branch of the former Huntington u0026 Broad Top railroad. . . Everett Railroad #11 was built in 1920 by the Cooke Locomotive Works (a division of the American Locomotive Company), originally intended for export to Cuba. 11, however, remained in the United States, and operated on the Narragansett Pier Railroad in 1923, and later the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad until 1949. #11 was originally built to burn oil, and was converted to coal-burning later in its service life. The locomotive returned to service under the operation of the Everett Railroad in 2015, and was converted back to oil-burning in 2022.. .
