Starting in 2022, the Indiana Rail Experience has been a huge success for the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. When after a few years, it seemed like 765 would only operate at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, this Experience came to life. Being able to operate, in Ohio, Indiana u0026 Michigan, over 100 Miles of Trackage, it was the best thing for the Berkshire. Not only that, it has operated various different types of excursions, from Tri-state, to Fall Foliage, to ice cream trains, as well as some excursions with the little River Railroad. In 2024, I would film one excursion in the line, that being the Fall Foliage excursion. Main reason for this was to finally hear the famed 80s tuning of 765. In 2025, I would make it back out here for two days of Tri State Steam Scenic, which would feature a Guest Whistle on Day 2, a Reading 6 chime. Join me in Chronological Order, as I chase the Tri-State Steam Express, starting off in Edon Ohio on the Wabash, journey West to Hamilton u0026 Steubenville, before taking the former New York Central North through Indiana u0026 Michigan to Hillsdale. Join me as we chase classic Lima Power Steam, in the Midwest.. . The Nickel Plate Road #76 is a 2-8-4 Berkshire Type Steam Locomotive, built by the Lima Locomotive Works in 1944. It operated for the Railroad until 1958. It was also the last Steam Locomotive Steamed up on the Nickel Plate. After it’s retirement it was renumbered 767 and put on Display in Lawton’s Park, as the City of Fort Wayne wanted the 767. However the real, 767 was in bad condition and the Nickel Plate Road did not want to scrap 765 as it was a favorite. In 1974 it was pulled out of Lawton Park, and was restored to Operation in 1979 and has operated excursions since all over the Midwest u0026 the North Eastern US and even the South! Since 2022, the Fort Wayne Historical Society has operated a series of excursions with the Indiana Northeastern Railroad, called the Indiana Rail Experience. Since 2022, the 765 has operated at various excursions during this event. Fort Wayne also announced within the past year, they were raising funds to restore New York Central 3001.. . I do hope as usual to see the 765 again this year. This engine is the reason my Channel began in the first place, 10 years ago! That being said, issues arose with East Broad Top 16 yesterday, and it is out of service today. With hearing this, me and the friends that were traveling out for this decided to go see Reading u0026 Northern #2102 during it’s second Winter Iron Horse Rambles. After that, I have nothing planned until #4014 and it’s 250 tour. While I do have a tentative list, that includes #2926 and 29 u0026 #4960 I am awaiting schedules before figuring out what I will and won’t see this year.
