Hsr Unveils Recycled Uniforms And Efforts To Cut Carbon taiwan News

The Taiwan High Speed Rail has unveiled a line of recycled products and uniforms, as part of its green mission. A fashion show starring employees of the rail company showed off a line of chic uniforms, all made of polyester that was once a mountain of plastic bottles. The same recycled plastic has also been used to produce products like umbrellas and bags. HSR trains are being fitted with more energy-saving fixtures. The company is also urging travelers to think about the waste and carbon emissions they produce, and to change their habits for the sake of nature.. . Dressed in off-white shirts and caps, Taiwan HSR employees are showing off their new uniform and its “eco-friendly and sustainable” ethos.. . The uniform is made of recycled plastic bottles thrown away at HSR stations. The plastic was processed into new polyester fibers before being made into clothes. From collecting the bottles, to producing the gauze, and then the plastic beads, through all that, we produced various products such as these uniforms.. . Apart from the uniforms, the items on this wall were all made from green materials: ball-point pens, tote bags, and public-use umbrellas. The HSR estimates that in 2024 this project reduced waste by 17 tons, and prevented 48 tons of carbon emissions. But, it says, the carbon-cutting agenda must go even further.. . Cheng Kuang-yuan. Also, the lighting in the trains all uses LEDs which are energy-saving.. . But relying solely on new products and uniforms to effect a carbon reduction mission won’t cut it.
