The classical time control is one hour and forty minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for the next 20 moves, and 15 minutes for the remainder of the game with a 30 second increment added from move one. Hans Suri was the festival’s founder and tournament organizer for the first 30 years.. . The ACP Golden Classic tournament brings back the practice of adjournment. The first edition of the ACP Golden Classics was won by Vassily Ivanchuk in Amsterdam 2012.. . The tournament is a seven player Round Robin. The rate of play is 150 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 60 minutes for the next 16 moves, followed by 15 minutes to finish the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move in the last period.
